The First Apollonians

Christopher D. Daniels is a student support specialist in the Washington metropolitan area.  He has experience in college advising, retention, and student success.   He is an alumnus of the Florida State University.

Christopher is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and has served as a chapter advisor.  He was initiated into Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity via Iota Rho Chapter and later served as President of the District of Columbia Alumni Association of APO.  He has also been an active member of the Federal City Club and has participated in service projects and philanthropic efforts benefiting opportunity youth.   He is a proud father to Kaleb.

 

 

Rashid Darden is an award-winning novelist, educator, and District of Columbia native.  He is the author of the novels Lazarus, Covenant, Epiphany, Birth of a Dark Nation, and the poetry collection The Life and Death of Savion Cortez.  His short play, Message from ‘The Legba,’ was a winner of the 2017 OutWrite Short Play Competition.  It was staged in 2018.

A teacher by day, Rashid currently serves as a GED instructor to opportunity youth in Columbia Heights.

Rashid is the past national president of Gamma Xi Phi, the professional fraternity for artists.  He has also served on the national, regional, and local levels of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He is an alumnus of Georgetown University.
